wxGlCanvas hiding wxMessageBox on wxGTK

Hi,
I have an application that has multiple wxGLCanvas panels on the
screen. When I popup a wxMessageBox, it shows up fine on WXMSW, but on
WXGTK the wxGlCanvas is blocking the wxMessageBox, as if the wxGLCanvas is
over the Box.
I am using wx3.0 on both windows ( 7 with VC++ 2010 ) and Ubuntu 13 with
CodeBlocks.

Any suggestions?.
