Ah, this is not going to give me a reliable way to be informed about these
bugs then I'm afraid.
Unfortunately I still have no idea about why don't the email notifications
work in this case, I've rechecked SMTP options in the Trac admin interface
once again but there is nothing relevant there. And looking at Trac emails
themselves, the reporter name doesn't seem to appear anywhere in their
headers, so why would a space in it prevent the email from being delivered
is beyond me. It's likely that the problem is somewhere inside Trac code
and the email is not being generated in the first place, so the solution
probably lies in upgrading Trac...
But until then I wonder if we could replace the hopefully irrelevant by
now instructions for SF tracker users on the "Register" page with a hint to
avoid using spaces in the login name for the new users? But I don't know
how to do this neither, in fact, cc'ing Robin in case he does.
