Hello

Is there any reason why online-docs-search gives me nothing?
http://docs.wxwidgets.org/trunk/search.php?query=wxRemoveFile

But google:
http://docs.wxwidgets.org/trunk/group__group__funcmacro__file.html

Okay use google. :-)

thanks

Doxygen's built-in search features have never been known as extensive
or high quality search algorithms. There's actually more than one
engine though, and you might have better luck with the other. The
online manuals use the built-in PHP search, which is supposed to be
the best option. If you download a local copy of the manual, it uses a
Javascript implementation against an index file, and that could give
you entirely different results.

For whatever it's worth, it's also quite possible that the built-in
search has improved significantly in Doxygen 1.8.8 (upgraded from our
current version of 1.8.2). Doxygen upgrades have to be done cautiously
though, they tend to break existing features often (in fact, I already
noticed that the changelog mentions they broke the server-based search
engine in 1.8.3 and didn't get it fixed until 1.8.7), and doing one
upgrade in trunk means that every developer working on the
documentation needs to upgrade, even if they still need to work on
docs in older branches (3.0 was released using Doxygen 1.8.2), so this
doesn't happen lightly.

So yes, the best solution is often just to use Google.

You could try Google and restrict its search to one site.
